The combination of natural attractions, cultural and historical wealth, opportunities for sports and active leisure, together with opportunities for relaxation and experiences, make the Liptov region the largest natural playground in Slovakia. Thanks to its unique natural attractions and wealth of cultural and historical monuments, Liptov is one of the most attractive regions in Slovakia. Most of its territory is mountainous, rich in forests and natural beauty. The most valuable natural assets are protected in the Tatra National Park, the Low Tatras National Park, and the Great Fatra National Park. The value of Liptov's nature is confirmed by its high level of protection. The protection of forests and natural beauty thus guarantees that Liptov is a "green" region with clean nature. Hiking and cycling in summer, as well as downhill and cross-country skiing in winter, are among the most frequent attractions for visitors to Liptov. Add to this the underground riches in several caves open to the public and numerous springs of healing mineral and thermal waters, as well as the Liptovská Mara water reservoir, and the natural image of Liptov is almost perfect. Jasná is the largest ski resort in Slovakia. The dominant feature of the resort is the Chopok peak, where there is a panoramic terrace with a restaurant. Jasná spans two regions: the northern part in Liptov and the southern part in Horehronie. In recent years, transport for skiers and snowboarders to the resort has been significantly simplified. From the north side of Liptovský Mikuláš, we recommend using the parking lot in Lúčky, from where it is no longer necessary to take a ski bus to the resort, as there is a cable car running directly from the parking lot. Jasná offers 45.6 km of slopes and 4.5 km of ski trails connecting individual locations. When there is sufficient natural snow, the resort provides the best conditions for freeriding in Slovakia in 12 freeride zones. Almost all slopes are served by express cable cars with sufficient capacity. Jasná has a total of 27 transport facilities, including 5 gondola lifts, 8 chairlifts, and 14 ski lifts. Of the total number, 11 facilities are suitable for children.
